The background to this is just two shades of brown ink. The image itself is printed and transferred with carbon paper. Violence to birds. All the top layer is soft pastel, apart from the bars which are pencil and the black eye which is biro. There is a layer of gesso on top of the ink to give the pastel some tooth. Soil degradation. Not one of my better works. Almost all ink. The drawing was sketched with pencil first then the white lines were drawn using a resist pen. layers of ink then added. I think the tree works better. This was done in the same way. Frances drawn first using black biro then resist pen just to make marks and different colours of ink added.
